Cagayan de Oro City woke up today to an overcast sky with intermittent showers. But just the same, it was business as usual in the port city despite the strike of a group of transport groups against the planned phase-out of old public utility jeepneys (PUJs).

Shown below are photos of the port city today taken from a passenger ship as it approaches to dock at the port.

A major transshipment hub, the city is a major link in the country’s nautical highway.

Most goods from Luzon and Visayas which are bound for Mindanao pass through the city.

The presence of these large gantry cranes indicate the large volume of cargo passing through the port.

Despite the overcast sky and the urban smog, the city’s emerging skyline is slightly silhouetted in the back.

Arriving at the port…
