The men and women who volunteered to establish Duterte’s Kitchen in Cagayan de Oro City formally opened yesterday its free food center along Andres Fernandez Street in Carmen.
Inspired by President Rodrigo Duterte’s “Lugaw ng Masa” feeding program when he was still mayor of Davao City, the center aims to feed the hungry. It serves soup and other dish depending on what’s available in the kitchen (donations).
A small spot in Carmen was selected to be the pilot place for the center and construction soon began with the help of non-government organizations (NGOs) and civic groups such as ONECDO sa Pagbabago Inc., United President Duterte Group R-X, New Gateway Eagles Club, Soka Gakkai International, Anonymous Cdo and PDP-Laban. Further, more anonymous groups and individuals have also helped the project thru volunteerism and donations. The volunteer group has no political affiliation.
By the way, those who wish to donate may contact Duterte’s Kitchen CDO thru its Facebook HERE.
