Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno recently led the ground breaking for the P2.4 million animal shelter and dog impounding facility located in Barangay Balubal.

Accordingly, the City Veterinary Office will manage the 4.2-hectare state-of-the-art facility which will address the rising animal rabies incidents in the city and will conform with standards set by the Animal Welfare Act. It will have comfortable cages for stray, unclaimed and unwanted dogs as well as a clinic where euthanasia is performed in accordance with the Anti-Rabies Act of 2007.
