With the multi-million drainage masterplan project still a long way to go, Cagayan de Oro City officials are planning to install rain gauges and early warning devices in the city’s major creeks and canals to alert the public of inevitable flooding.

Most of the monitoring devices are installed along Cagayan de Oro River and its tributaries. More details in SunStar CDO (LINK). This time, most likely additional monitoring devices will be placed along Bitan-ag Creek, Sapang Creek, Dagong Creek and perhaps even in Bigaan and Cugman Rivers in the eastern part of the city.
