A portion of Barangay Carmen in Cagayan de Oro City continues to be flooded during heavy rains. And another ongoing drainage project along Gumamela Street could have helped alleviate the perennial problem in the area.
The project has been ongoing for several months already and it is another subterranean canal going beneath Gumamela Street with final outlet into Cagayan de Oro River across Duaw Park. This could provide an outlet for floodwaters which always accumulate along JV Serina Street which reached waist-deep last week and even flooded the ground floor of Madonna and Child Hospital.
