The Agora Subterranean Canal, a multi-million drainage project in Cagayan de Oro City could not be completed ahead of the urban flooding which recently occurred in the city.

The 600-meter canal is large enough to fit two vehicles and runs from Bitan-ag Creek at Limketkai Center and runs underneath Puregold and Agora Road. DPWH is currently negotiating with Puregold because the canal runs beneath the building. See map below.

Accordingly, there are 17 drainage projects along Bitan-ag Creek worth P1.2 billion and would take 2 years to complete. Read Bobby Lagsa’s article at Rappler.com HERE.
