The Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) has released a statement stating that normal water supply operations have been restored by around midnight and sufficient pressure had already been built in most parts of its service area.
As per COWD, last night’s power interruption caused the interruption in water supply. Heavy rains caused flooding in many parts of the city rendering many roads impassable. Access to COWD’s facilities was rather difficult. However, normal operations was restored around midnight.
However, two production wells are still operating with the use of generator sets: PW No. 23 located in Tin-ao, Agusan and PW No. 14 in Balulang. COWD is currently coordinating with the City Government for the facilitation of water delivery to the evacuation centers.
