Metro Cagayan de Oro will soon be established as the Philippines’ 4th economic center by 2025, joining Metro Manila, Metro Cebu and Metro Davao, this according to a draft of the National Economic Development Authority’s (NEDA) Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022.

The text on the write-up reads as follows:

“Metro Cagayan de Oro will become the 4th metropolitan center based on its projected population growth and functional role as major gateway and transshipment hub in Northern Mindanao. Metro CDO will also remain as a key educational center in Northern Mindanao.”
