Solons seek opening of Laguindingan Airport to international flights

Fifteen (15) congressmen from Northern Mindanao led by Misamis Oriental 2nd Dist. Rep. Juliette Uy have asked President Rodrigo Duterte to open international flights at Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental as this would help avoid congestion at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Accordingly, the lawmakers wrote a letter to the President regarding their request. Rep. Uy said the said move will alleviate air and vehicular traffic at NAIA as well as help develop the province.

At present, the airport serves the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, El Salvador and Gingoog and the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte.
