Less than a year ago, an estimated fifty (50) elementary school children and high school students from Sitio Kitara in Brgy. Lingating, Baungon, Bukidnon use two makeshift bamboo rafts, climb up the vertical river bank and walk one kilometer just to go to school everyday to public schools in Barangays Bayanga and Mambuaya in Cagayan de Oro City.

But last December 23, 2016, their lives changed after the DPWH together with Cong. Ma. Lourdes Acosta-Alba and local officials formally inaugurated the 120-meter hanging bridge across Cagayan de Oro River including the access road.
