As our opening salvo for 2017 – On January 7, 2017, Atty. Ingemar Macarine known as the “Pinoy Aquaman ” will try to conquer the Camiguin Channel from Guinsiliban in Camiguin to Balingoan in Misamis Oriental to promote tourism, clean seas and in celebration of 165th Camiguin Foundation Day. The swim is to be sponsored by the Province of Camiguin, Municipalities of Camiguin and support agencies.
Macarine will be gunning for his 25th successful open-water swim making him the only Filipino swimmer to do such feat. Accordingly, it is planned to be a two-way swim to come up with the 24-kilometer distance and he is targeting to complete the feat in 8-10 hours. LINK
The distance between Guinsiliban and Balingoan is approximately 12 kilometers so perhaps Macarine could be planning a ’round trip’ to Camiguin.
