Having problems with your internet service provider lately? The Free Wi-Fi Internet Access Project of the Department of the Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will soon be available in Cagayan de Oro City.
This after the City Council recently passed an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Oscar Moreno to sign a memorandum of agreement with the DICT for the implementation of the said project in the city (LINK). The MOA assures the barangays’ support of the project without delay. The project will initially cover public schools, libraries, hospitals, rural health units, police stations, state universities and colleges, public transport terminals, seaports, and airports.
As of today based on the project website (LINK), the DICT office in Cagayan de Oro is among 219 sites nationwide now with the free WiFi access. More sites in the city will be included in the list soon once the facilities are in place.
