More than six years ago (2010), Cogon Market had a large atrium equipped with two giant 52-inch flat TV monitors, four giant blowers and ventilators, transparent roofing and a Pineapple Wishing Well and Fountain.” It was a development aimed at beautifying the public market and a major upgrade from usual public markets.

It was one of then Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Constantino Jaraula’s projects. Shown below are old photos of the atrium.

But the development was short-lived after it was demolished to give way to a major redevelopment utilizing more space for commercial leasing which resulted to a whole new Cogon Market as seen today.
