Now on its 17th year, the Metrobank Fun Run For A Cause gets going on December 4, 2016.
The event is organized by the Metrobank Purple Hearts Club (PHC) – Cagayan de Oro City Chapter in partnership with Cagayan Circle Productions Association, Inc. Established in February 2003, Purple-Hearts is a medal given to U. S. soldiers for their valor in service, which symbolizes the very essence of heroism. PHC adopted the name to redefine heroism: living for country by contributing to nation building.
Metrobank Fun Run For A Cause is considered the longest running fun run for a cause in the city with all of the proceeds going to the needs of Persons with Disablities (PWD) in the city. PHC’s efforts allowed the group to provide for PWDs wheelchairs and prosthetic legs and just last year, have expanded to supporting the scholarship of thirty (30) Children with Disabilities.
In 1992, UN General Assembly proclaimed December 3 as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Hence, Metrobank Fun Run is annually held every 1st Sunday of December. What better time to show support and celebrate this occasion.
Registration Fee is P350 for 5K and P450 for 10K. Visit any Metrobank CdeO Branch or at La Cabana Spa to register. The fee includes a Jersey shirt. *P100 less the registration fee if without shirt. For inquiries, interested runners may call at (088) 857-5999.
Assembly time will be 4:30am at Metrobank Corrales (fronting XU Gym).
