A P650 million 250-bed veterans’ hospital is set to rise at the PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority (PIA) Estate in Misamis Oriental. This was disclosed by Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana during the Veterans Event 2016 held recently in Cagayan de Oro City.

The proposed hospital will primarily cater to veterans and retirees of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) residing in Northern Mindanao including those in Southern Mindanao, Central Mindanao and Southern Visayas.

It can be recalled that a Deed of Donation of 5 hectares of land was signed in 2014 with a provision to increase up to 10 hectares inside the PIA estate for the construction of the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) in Mindanao, the ceremonial groundbreaking was even held. Photo below. LINK
