Due to numerous suggestions from our followers, we are posting the proposed route of the New Cagayan de Oro Western Diversion Road. This is based on available resources both onsite and from inside DPWH. Accordingly, negotiations for right-of-way for affected properties have already been conducted.
The new road will start at the junction of Macapagal Drive and PN Roa Sr Avenue. This is presently a “T” crossing and motorists going to Bulua coming from Uptown and Calaanan area will have to turn left at the junction. As shown, the road opening will cut across the open field with a proposed rotunda.
From the field, it goes straight north-northeast and crosses Macapagal Drive. Again, another rotunda is planned. A small bridge is also proposed over Calaanan Creek.
From the proposed rotunda, it goes north again. Note that the existing road (Macapagal Drive) is winding at this section.
As it goes north, it cuts across the eastern section of Amaia Scapes Cagayan de Oro. It now goes parallel with Macapagal Drive.
Then it curves slightly to the left going north-northwest towards Golden Haven.
It cuts the western boundary of Golden Haven and goes further north-northwest.
It then cuts along the western boundary of Villa Candida Subd. and heads straight to the National Highway.
It follows the existing LTO Road and goes further north and turns northeast after Oro Sagatech Resort.
It further goes northeast cutting across idle properties until it crosses the new Coastal Road.
Here’s the whole route below.
This road will then follow the existing Coastal Road and then connects to the Kauswagan-Bonbon Section then to the proposed Bonbon-Macabalan Bridge.
