Tourists now won’t have to worry where and how to get to Agutayan White Island. This after Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano and Jasaan Mayor Gregorio Jonathan N. Po led provincial, municipal officials and local residents in the inauguration today of the Agutayan White Island Jump Off Point located in Jampason, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental.

The P9.8 million Jump Off Point will serve as starting point for tourists in going to the famed white island off the coast of Jasaan. With the new tourist facility, it is expected that associated businesses like restaurants, souvenir shops and spas will sprout in the area since Agutayan is one of the emerging tourist destinations in the province.

  3. I visited this white island in 2010. It is purportedly a marine reserve. I swam around til I found the giant clams. Unfortunately, whomever had visited them before me decided that harvesting the clams for their meat was more important than their ecological and tourism value. Beautiful shells though and somewhere like 2 to 3 feet across.
