Capitol to shut down Misortel; offers to sell telephone firm

Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano has disclosed that the province-run Misamis Oriental Telephone System Inc. (Misortel) will have to close down after 25 years of operation, citing huge costs to rehabilitate and improve the facilities which the Capitol cannot sustain. However, Emano said Misortel will not shut down unless an entity expresses interest to buy the telephone service company.

    Don’t close. Offer it to an established telco like PLDT or Globe.

    PLDT has completed its copper wire connections and is implementing its fiber optic system in CDO. I think the MISORTEL technology is already obsolete and has depreciated its value. Hence, it will not help improve its network. The existing MISORTEL customers may just opt to connect to PLDT.

    Further, if MISORTEL will shutdown this will be good for CDO particularly in removing the spaghetti wires of MISORTEL.

  4. I had my phone line disconnected with all pertinent documents submitted but until now my deposit was not refunded.
