CA reverses CDO Mayor’s suspension; cites expiration of previous term of office

The Court of Appeals (CA) has reversed the Ombudsman’s suspension of Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno because the penalty “may no longer be enforced given the expiration of his previous term of office”. However, the CA upheld the Ombudsman’s ruling to suspend City Accountant Beda Joy Elot and City Budget Officer Percy Salazar for simple misconduct.

    Whatever. What’s important is that the mayor goes back to work asap. So much litter in streets, traffic congestion, few auhorities on the road, beggars all over. Mibalik na sab ang ka gubot sa cogon. The city’s one big mess at the moment.
