Transportation head eyes Mindanao Rail Project contract by end 2017


Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said his department is eyeing to award the contract for the 2,000-kilometer Mindanao railway project before the end of 2017. Said project has been tagged a priority project by the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA). NEDA earlier disclosed that Korea, China and Japan as well as local groups—Ayala Corp., Megawide Construction Corp., Metro Pacific Investments Corp. and San Miguel Corp. have shown interest in the project.
