An unattended package near the San Isidro Labrador Church in Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City caused heightened fear among residents in the area last night, September 3.

The parish priest reported to the police after discovering a mysterious package left in between pots (see photo) at the church’s premises. The Davao incident was still fresh and unattended things are most often suspected to contain explosives.

Fortunately, the package was not an improvised explosive device (IED) and was found to contain only drinking glasses after police bomb squad blew up the package which was believed to have been left by a guest during a church wedding held earlier in the day.
