On fiesta day, August 28, 2016, the traditional Higalaay Fluvial Procession will take place at the Cagayan de Oro River. The route starts from Macabalan and ends at Duaw Park.

Thousands of spectators are expected to crowd the newly-constructed river dikes particularly at City Hall and Duaw Park. Meanwhile, all motorists are advised of a temporary traffic scheme to be implemented during the duration of the fluvial procession. As shown below, traffic at Ysalina Bridge will be one-way from Capistrano Street to Vamenta Blvd in Carmen. Motorists going the city proper coming from the west are advised to take either JR Borja Bridge and Kagay-an Bridge. RTA personnel will be deployed along the said bridges including Maharlika Bridge and Puntod-Kauswagan Bridge to ensure smooth traffic flow. It is expected that some vehicles might stop at the bridge to get a glimpse of the procession along the river.
