JR Borja General Hospital launches Telepsychiatry project

The city-owned JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) recently launched its Telepsychiatry Project which is aimed at giving medical/clinical diagnoses and prescription to mentally ill patients in Cagayan de Oro City and neighboring provinces through video conferencing.

The project is in partnership with the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City.

During the launching, a 41-year-old patient diagnosed with schizophrenia talked via video conference to Dr. Reagan Joseph Villanueva where the former was given follow-up evaluation as shown below.

City officials, hospital staff, invited guests and media were on hand to witness to soft launching which was also one of the highlights of the 53rd Founding Anniversary of the said hospital.
