CDO’s Paloma qualifies for IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship

Jenefer Paloma of Cagayan de Oro City has qualified for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship set September 9, 2017 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA after topping her age group (18-24 yrs old) during the recent IRONMAN 70.3 Asia Pacific Championship held August 7, 2016 in Cebu.

Paloma finished some 18 seconds ahead of USA’s Ariana Khu. We have previously featured another Kagay-anon in Lezette Albarote (LINK) who placed 2nd in her age group (40-44 yrs) in the same race.


The IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship is the pinnacle event in the global IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon series. IRONMAN expects more than 185,000 registered athletes to race at over 100 IRONMAN 70.3 races around the world throughout the 2017 qualifying season.
