New 20 MW solar facility planned to rise in Villanueva; 2 small solar power plants eyed in CDO

After the inauguration early this year of the 12.5 MW Kirahon Solar Energy Corporation (Read LINK), another large solar facility is being planned also in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental. Hayes Solar Energy Corporation is proposing to construct a 20 MW solar power plant. If materialized, this will be the second solar power plant in Villanueva.

Meanwhile, two small solar generating facilities each with a potential capacity of 0.5 MW, both by Solar Pacific Citysun Corporation are also being proposed to rise in Bulua and Iponan in Cagayan de Oro City. However, said projects including that of Hayes Solar Energy Corp. are still pending with the Department of Energy (DOE). See below list of pending solar applications as of March 31, 2016.
