VIDEO WATCH: Paseo del Rio today

Paseo del Rio, the 12-hectare mixed use development of the Zealep Group in Cagayan de Oro City was envisioned to be a masterplanned community with a world-class hotel and a convention center.

Construction was ongoing until the aftermath of Sendong painted a tragic picture of the site. Although construction resumed weeks after the tragedy, it was later gathered that many investors have backed out of the project. Since then, the last remaining construction-related work observed was the installation of metal claddings at the exterior of the convention center building in 2013.

There are new developments since then – CDO Bar and ongoing construction of Academy for International Education (AIE) new campus. See below latest aerial footage by Project Lupad shared via Youtube.

A great video but there is zero information here on the future of this “world-class hotel and a convention center”. It has been a derelict site for three+ years. Any plans for completion, when? There is another convention building at Taguanao boldly called the “Cagayan de Oro International Convention Center”, built 10+ years ago and also seemingly abandoned.
