Cagayan de Oro City ranked 7th in the 2016 annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities based on the results of the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index 2016, which ranks over 1,300 local government units (LGUs) across the country based on their performance on three pillars: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, and Infrastructure.
The city fell one notch from the previous year’s ranking (2015) where it was ranked 6th.
Below is the final overall rankings for 2016 which was topped by Quezon City. Incidentally, three Mindanaoan cities made it to the Top 10.
