Cagayan de Oro City’s resiliency and economic growth are on display as the 2-day 2016 International Conference on Urban Development: Accelerating Resilience and Inclusive Growth unfolded today at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.
City Mayor Oscar Moreno together with six (6) other panelists from the city are among several experts and personalities invited to share experiences on various topics on resilience and urban development. Mayor Moreno will be a speaker on the plenary on urbanization issues.
Mr. Raoul Geollegue, Senior Technical Consultant of Relief International-Enterprise Works Worldwide Phils. Inc. will be a panelist on the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction.
Ms. Eileen E. San Juan, Local Economic & Investments Promotion Officer of Cagayan de Oro will be a panelist on “Promoting Local Economic Development.”
Engr. Alex L. Maureal, Project Manager, Building Permit Management System (eBPMS), Cagayan de Oro City joins the panel discussion on “Technological Solutions for Urban Development.”
Mr. Jaime Rafael Paguio, Senior VP, CEPALCO and former president of Oro Chamber and Promote-CDO is in the list of panelists on “Improving Business Climate for Investments.”
And finally, Dr. Dixon Yasay, Head of Xavier University’s Governance Leadership Institute and Mindanao University of Science and Technology (MUST) President Engr. Ricardo E. Rotoras are panelists on “Promoting Innovation through Human Capital Development”.
Moreover, Cagayan de Oro also takes pride as another Kagay-anon, Mr. Christopher Rollo, Country Programme Manager of UN-Habitat shares his experience on the “Road to Habitat 3”.
