Ombudsman denies CDO City Mayor Moreno’s Motion for Reconsideration; upholds Dismissal Order




In an eight-page decision dated February 15, 2o16 and signed by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales last March 3, the Office of the Ombudsman denied Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno’s Motion for Reconsideration and upheld its earlier decision of dismissal from service, perpetual disqualification from holding public office, and forfeiture of retirement benefits. The Order was served only yesterday.

    I am not qualified to evaluate the original case. HOWEVER, I DO believe that under the circumstances, the Ombudsman should be personally liable for all expenses incurred by Mr. Emano in his quest for reelection.
