“Baste” to wear barong made of Mindanao silk woven in Laguindingan for Duterte inauguration


Sebastian “Baste” Duterte has chosen to wear a barong designed by the Davao Fashion and Design Council (DFDC) but made of Mindanao silk woven by members of Ayala Beneficiaries Association Inc., based in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental for his dad President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s inauguration on June 30.

The silk come from a farmers cooperative based in Claveria, Misamis Oriental, who grow silkworms and process the silk into yarn.
