Cagayan de Oro Port levels up with additional gantry crane

Cagayan de Oro’s Base Port in Macabalan ranked third in cargo handling during the first quarter of 2016 (LINK) and among just four base ports under the Philippine Ports Authority which exceeded 1,000 metric tons in cargoes handled during the period, the other three ports are in Manila.

Aside from its ongoing expansion, the port has one additional gantry crane to handle containers from container and cargo ships. The newest gantry crane arrived May 10 to further beef up the port’s containerized operations. Overall, it now has three gantry cranes as shown below. The newest is the one on the leftmost.
