After the solar eclipse last March 9, 2016, the country will witness another eclipse later today. A penumbral eclipse of the moon will happen today, March 23 and will be visible in the Philippines from 5:37 p.m. until 9:57 p.m.
A penumbral eclipse occurs when the moon passes through the faint penumbral portion of the earth’s shadow. The lunar surface is not completely shadowed by the earth’s umbra or the darkest part of a shadow.
