Some 612 hectares of the town of Magsaysay in Misamis Oriental, Philippines has been declared as Critical Habitat for Hawksbill Turtles.

Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Ramon Paje signed DENR Administrative Order (DAO) No. 2016-02 or The Magsaysay Critical Habitat for Hawksbill Turtles (MCHHT). The Hawksbill Turtle or locally known as “pawikan” has been listed as one of the most endangered species in the Philippines.
