This pedestrian overpass along Vamenta Boulevard in Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City was specifically built for the benefit of the school children at West City Central School crossing the road.
The school is located near the intersection of Vamenta Boulevard and Masterson Avenue where heavy traffic is observed during rush hours. Further, traffic also builds up near the school at the start and end of daily classes as public utility vehicles, motorelas and even private vehicles park nearby to pick up passengers. Stubborn and perhaps lazy pedestrians do not use the overpass.
You can see obedient school children using the overpass in crossing the road while disobedient individuals are seen crossing the road. A traffic aide is seen at the site.
Perhaps a permanent railing at the center ot along the sidewalks should be placed to instill discipline…
