The Oro Association of Rafters (OAR) composed of Cagayan de Oro’s six (6) rafting outfitters is now proposing for an increase of its uniform rates.

The fixed minimum uniform rate of P700 was specified in Article IV of City Ordinance No. 11087-2008: Prescribing the rules and regulations in the conduct and operation of whitewater rafting in the city. With all of its rafting gears sourced from overseas, OAR justified the need for an increase of its rates taking also in consideration more training of its river guides to meet required international standards and providing more investment on safety.

See below the proposed rates. Note that the routes are now renamed as Lower Section, Mid Section and Lower Mid Section as indicated.

As also shown above, OAR has proposed opening of the upper section of Cagayan de Oro River as new routes with corresponding costs. In case you’re not familiar with the whitewater rafting route, view the map HERE.

Said proposal has already been submitted to the City Council thru the Committee on Tourism. Once approved, the new rates could well be in effect by March of this year.

OAR has also published an ad (see below) in a local periodical as shown below.

The city’s 6 outfitters are: Cagayan de Oro River Tours Corp. (Red Rafts), Golden Friendship White Water Rafting Corp., 1st Rafting Adventure Philippines, Kagay, Bugsay Corp. and Great White Water Tours, Inc.
