The United States of America (USA) is set to build its military facility inside the former Lumbia Airport in Cagayan de Oro City in the later part of this year as part of the country’s Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) with the US. This is according to Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin during yesterday’s 46th founding anniversary of the Philippine Army’s 4th Infantry Division (4ID).

My Pros and Cons on the matter

    Pro’s
1.) Job creation around the area and within CDO and Mis. Or.
2,) Security and confidence of investors that are planning to put up a business in CDO

    Con’s
1.) Mag sadya mga burikat within CDO
2.) rampant premiscuous sex so HIV-AIDS will sky rocket for sure

    kana lang sa for now.

  6. Viktor says:

Duuh…

Wag nyo e compare ang kano they know the consequences of having sex

Naa cla choices. On the other hand, mas ok if naa us military sa cdo ky daghan makatrabaho ug daghan magnegosyo ky kampante cla sailang security. Pero naa mn jud pro and con.

CDO is now suddenly a part of a complex international game that involves the fate of nations and a continent as powers make their moves for global dominance or survival. we are now a small part of that! and all the people here care about kai mga burikat… burikat ug sex lives sa mga sundalo… grabe ka petty…

  10. RFM says:

For general info. The US Air Force used to have a facility in Bukidnon within the are of Del Monte. I am sure of this because I was born in Bukidnon. When the US bases in the Phils were removed, the facilities in Bukidnon were also affected and were turnover to PNP. So, the US Armed Forces particularly Air Force is not new here in Northern Mindanao.

US forces in CDO means opportunities for the following:

    1. Military education
    2. Safety to the region
    3. Rescue and relief logistics
    4. Opportunities of training from locals to technology eg. military, engineering, aviation, relief and rescue, naval and even governance.
    5. Prostitution and its likes

To me, the benefits out weigh the impact of prostitution and sexuality. In that sense, as early as now, LGU should address that foreseen threat.

There used to be a US ‘weather station’ near Camp Phillips & the USAF used to land in LUMBIA. The station was actually used for nuclear test monitoring – see photo & comment at

I don’t know why everyone is so worried about pro situation, most of the women there are either already selling it to Americans or are so homely they can’t get laid anyway.

    • RFM says:

Please be careful with the choice of your words. For instance, you use “most of the women there” meaning majority of the women in CDO are already “selling” to Americans. This is malicious and false statement, Maybe what you meant was many (more than 1 is considered many?) women in CDO are already selling to the Americans. But is this true? what is your basis for saying that? Or perhaps you are saying that because you are one of the foreigners who paid filipina women for your maniac- sexual urges.

The Cdo and the americans has always had a good relationship with each other. we were colonized by the americans and we have their culture in our traditions even up to this day. and i think that we are very welcoming with the americans and i don’t see any problem with that at all. charot
