Rebirth Outdoor Trekkers and Adventurers (ROTA) Philippines, Inc., a Cagayan de Oro-based youth group who share an interest in nurture-nature-related outdoor activities and community service, made it as a National Finalist for this year’s Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) Awardees during the National Finals Awarding held today at the Malacanang Palace.

ROTA Philippines’ Trek and Treat Project is aimed at helping sick children who need medical treatment through surgery or medication. Trek and Treat brings together outdoor enthusiasts and provides them avenue to help other people especially the needy. For every trek and treat event, the organization collects one hundred pesos fee from every participant; 80 pesos of the fee is given to the beneficiary while 20 pesos goes to the organization’s expenses such as event ID and certificate. Since its inception, Php75,580 has been raised through the project and was used to change the lives of three children from different areas in Misamis Oriental. Watch their video below.
