If you’ve been travelling, you might have noticed the AH26 Road Sign along the National Highway.

In Cagayan de Oro City, one AH26 sign is found near Macabalan Port right across Land Bank as shown below. You can find several others as you travel east towards Bukidnon.

For starters, “AH” means Asian Highway and 26 is the number assigned to the 3,517 kilometer Philippine Segment of the Asian Highway Network, most notably the Maharlika Highway. The “10” is the number assigned to the 292.39 kilometer Cagayan de Oro-Davao Road including a lengthy portion of Sayre Highway following the new road numbering system of the DPWH as shown below.

According to the DPWH Memo, the installation of these AH26 road signs is in compliance with the Philippines’ commitment to the UN-ESCAP to promote trade, international as well as local tourism. See below the whole route of AH26.
