The annual religious tradition of the Feast of the Black Nazarene in Cagayan de Oro City continued today as hundreds of thousands of devotees participated in the Procession called “Traslacion” which began just before dawn today.
Shown below is the start of the Procession as it moves along Don Apolinar Velez Street. According to news reports, devotees have come from all over Mindanao and even from Visayas and Luzon.
The mammoth crowd was still moving along Don Apolinar Velez Street as sunlight slowly emerges.
The Black Nazarene replica in Cagayan de Oro City is just one of two replicas of the original Black Nazarene which is found in Quiapo, Manila.
At the light of day, you could see devotees from all walks of life….
With uniformed personnel providing ample security, the Traslacion was orderly.
CM Recto Avenue was literally ‘flooded’ with devotees.
