The Province of Misamis Oriental is celebrating its 86th founding anniversary with a lot of fanfare yesterday during the opening of the Kuyamis Festival 2016.

Governor Yevgeny Emano and Department of Tourism Regional Director Catalino Chan cut the ribbon formally opening the week-long festivities at the Vicente de Lara Park fronting the Capitol.


The event also saw performances from various dance troupes.

The candidates for Miss Earth-Misamis Oriental were also presented. Coronation night is set this Saturday, January 9, 2015.


Meanwhile, below are some of the booths at the park. All booths are uniquely constructed made of coconut parts. Each booth also showcases its products and tourism sites.
