iCARE (Intervention Center for Autism and Related Exceptionalities) the city’s first ABA therapy center and leading autism advocacy group in partnership with Centrio Ayala Mall, Cagayan de Oro will hold an Autism Awareness Campaign and Christmas Party to Children with Special Needs on December 14, 2015 at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the Activity Center of Centrio Ayala Mall, Cagayan de Oro City. One hundred fifty (150) special children from iCARE, Treasure House of God’s Graces Early Childhood Center, Camaman-an Elementary School and Father Masterson Elementary School Special Education Department will join the event.
To give inspiration and awareness to the community, iCARE invited retired Judge Jojo Gentiles Bacal, the past president of Autism Society of the Philippines – Cagayan de Oro Chapter to give a talk on autism. She will share her experience and challenges as a parent of a special child. After the talk, there will be a ZUMBA for special children to be led by Mr. Dennis Mariano of Zumba Fitness, Cagayan de Oro City. The Zumba is especially thought of by iCARE not only to give the special children opportunity to dance and be themselves, but this is also good for their gross motor activity.
There will also be a Magic, Bubbles, and Balloon Twisting Show and Mascots for the special kids to enjoy by Mr. Dexter Deauna and his friends from Happyme Will party event. Face painting will likewise be available for special kids to enjoy courtesy of Atty. Kanna Motoomull-Idulsa, a make-up artist and autism advocate. To conclude the event, loot bags and gift items will be distributed by Centrio Ayala Mall to show their love for all the Special Kids.
