Barangay Tablon is Cagayan de Oro City’s industrial hub.

It is home to several large industrial firms like Nestlé Phils., Inc., Cagayan Corn Products Corp., Cagayan de Oro Oil Co., General Milling Corp., Gama Foods Corp., Minergy, Jetti Petroleum, UKC Builders, MITIMCO, among others.

But unlike other barangays in the city, it has a bunch of private seaports operating along its coast. Shown below is Gothong Port. It is a cargo handling port and not a passenger port. Shown is vessel M/V Manila Bay 1 which is docked at the said port.

More port structures along the coast. A tug boat is also seen docked at Gothong Port.

Based on its design, Manila Bay 1 used to be a passenger vessel and was converted into a cargo ship.IMG_1324

That’s Del Monte’s Canning Factory and docks in the horizon.

There were plans of extending the coastal road project towards Bugo…but with the presence of these ports, the plan needs t be revisited.
