GrabTaxi, a smartphone-based taxi booking and dispatching service, is now in Cagayan de Oro City.

This is really good for those looking for taxis late at night, early morning or even in any time of the day.  provides transparency in information of the taxi booking – driver’s name, plate number, phone number, and estimated fare. But the best thing about GrabTaxi is that it carefully pre-screens all drivers and monitors their performance based on feedbacks from passengers daily….and guess what, you can track your driver as you wait for him.

Watch the video below on how GrabTaxi works.

You can download the GrabTaxi iOS app for FREE in App Store, Android app in Google Play Store or Windows Phone app in Windows Store.

Don’t have a smartphone? Don’t worry, you may still book at GrabTaxi. Read more FAQ on GrabTaxi HERE.

Here’s a screenshot of the app….

Once you start the app, GrabTaxi will auto detect your location. After indicating your destination, it will display the estimated taxi fare on the meter. GrabTaxi will then look for available taxis in your area. In this case, four (4) taxis with drivers’ names came up. For this instance, the passenger chose Bennie.

As shown in screenshot below, you can track the taxi while you wait…Note that passenger is waiting at Limketkai Avenue (Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) while taxi is cruising along Gaabucayan Street.

After the drop-off, you will be asked to rate your trip. See details of taxi on the left.12202264_10206965293044904_1447965804_n

The passenger paid the actual fare of P78.50 from CBTL to Tejeros in Patag. The usual additional P70 booking fee is not yet collected. Perhaps because GrabTaxi’s operation is still new in the city. And by the way, according to “Bennie” the taxi driver, GrabTaxi is targeting an initial 25 units.

So….next time if you’re looking for taxi, try GrabTaxi.
