Ever since the Western Coastal Road (3rd Bridge Access Road) was opened to traffic in May last year (LINK), massive earth filling, site preparation and other civil works have been observed in the properties along the new highway particularly in Bulua in Cagayan de Oro City and in Barra in Opol, Misamis Oriental.
Since many of these areas were formerly fishponds, property owners have conducted a lot of filling works to raise their property at level or higher than the new highway. As shown below, many of these properties are not just small lots but consist of several hectares with great potential of commercial development.
Fist set of photos below show one of the early filling works at Barra. This property covers more or less 5 hectares.
Taking pictures onsite …
Across it is another earthfilling…this is probably around 4,000 sq.m.
Chanced upon this near Igpit section.
This vast property below is right beside the Seven Seas Waterpark and Resort which is seen in the background.
That sign for the Seaside Bible Camp which is along the coast.
This property is also being fenced.
We could see more developments in this area in the near future.
