For many years, access to Cagayan de Oro City’s hinterland barangays have been hampered by bad roads and sometimes, crossing a series of streams proved to be perilous to both commuters and transport vehicles. Transport of the city’s farm products have been greatly affected.
Now, transport of farm products to the city has greatly improved with continuing paving of these city roads. Photos below show a newly-paved section in Barangay Pigsag-an. This barangay is located some 30 kilometers from the city proper.
Here’s a map of where Pigsag-an is. Clearly, it is in the upstream portion of Iponan River.
