The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started implementing the new traffic scheme near the Bullua Terminal Junction in preparation for the Sapang Bridge Project which is expected to start anytime this week.

As shown, large new directional and traffic signs are already installed and the eastbound lane of the National Highway is now closed to traffic. This section is from Vjandep towards Terminal Junction. Presently, establishments nearby can still use the eastbound lane as entry to their respective establishments.

The traffic scheme also converted the westbound lane of the National Highway into a 2-way road as shown below. All 6-wheelers and trucks are now diverted to the Coastal Road.

Just across Vjandep is the target start of the 300-meter long bridge which accordingly will be elevated more than a meter from the present road level. IMG_8161
