A few years ago, we posted about the plan to develop the Alubijid campus of Mindanao University of Science and Technology (MUST) — Read it HERE.
The area which covers more or less 292 hectares is located in Barangay Lourdes in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental as stated under Presidential Proclamation 739 (View it HERE).
In case you’re not familiar with Brgy. Lourdes, it is located some 6 kilometers from the National Highway and accessible either via Poblacion Laguindingan or Alubijid proper as shown below. The MUST area could be much farther about 7-8 kilometers from the highway.
To give you a glimpse of the Alubjid campus, see photos below of the scaled model of the masterplan development which is displayed at the MUST Administrative Building.
Clearly, it shows three areas of development: (1) Academic Campus, (2) Government Buildings, and (3) Commercial Center.
As depicted in the model, the area has a hilly terrain with mid-rise buildings with unique architecture.
With developments and improvements still focused on the Cagayan de Oro Campus, the Alubijid site seems still to be subject for funds from the national government.
