Cagayan de Oro City 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez has announced in a local radio program today that he has secured funding for the pedestrian overpass along CM Recto Avenue which would link two major malls in the city.

According to Rufus, the project will cost some P10 million and will include elevators on each side which is good for PWDs. This project was first revealed last year by a local columnist (LINK). Not until today that we heard it straight from Rep. Rodriguez. Funding will come from a congressional allocation.

Certainly, this project is long overdue as the volume of pedestrians crossing between Centrio Mall and Gaisano Mall have increased significantly which has affected vehicular traffic in the area as well as providing greater risks to pedestrians and commuters.
