Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno proudly presented two athletes from Cagayan de Oro who will participate in the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, USA on July 25, 2015.

They are 18-year-old Christine Pabia, who will compete in aquatics and 22-year old Ramsey Abarca who will compete in athletics. Dr. Vic H. Cinco, President of Special Olympics Phils.-CDO Chapter said the Special Olympics is held every four years which includes sporting events such as aquatics, gymnastics, track and field, basketball, football and other summer sports. It will feature seven thousand athletes from 170 countries throughout the world.

City Social Welfare and Development Officer Teddy Sabuga-a gave assurance of the city’s strong support to the event which shows the desire of Mayor Moreno in making Cagayan de Oro a “Child Friendly City”.
