The Philippine Under-16 Squad followed up their 106-69 thumping of Malaysia with a 105-48 rout of Thailand in the Southeast Asia Basketball Association Under-16 Championship last night at Xavier University Gym in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines.

The win qualified the Philippines for the FIBA Asia tournament in July, which will serve as a qualifier for the Under-17 World Cup. Bacolod City’s Sam Josef Belangel again showed why he is the future of Philippine basketball with a near triple double of 16 points, 8 assists and 8 steals. Big man Will Gozum backed him up with 13 points and 8 rebounds. See the stats below (from (fibalivestats.com).
